Biomolecular and clinical epidemiology of diabetes, obesity and metabolic
syndrome

Biomolecular and clinical epidemiology of diabetes, obesity and metabolic
syndrome (PIZARRA, EGABRO and DI@BET.ES studies).
General objective: To study the epidemiology of diabetes mellitus and related
metabolic diseases in Spain and Andalusia by probabilistic sampling and
analysis of electronic medical record database.
Specific objectives: To study new prognostic biomarkers for glycaemia impairment (specifically, miRNAs) To study the sociodemographic, clinical and environmental factors associated with diabetes in adulthood.
To study the sociodemographic, clinical and environmental factors associated
with cardiovascular events in adulthood
